Simply setting the keyboard backlight to off by pressing fn+f10 will do the trick. If you set the lights off within synapse, your profile won't load until the synapse is launched. So basically if you turn on your laptop, the lights will be on with spectrum cycling until you log in your account and turn on synapse. If you turn off the keyboard lighting through windows itself, in this case turning it off through fn+f10, it will stay off from what I know. I set my keyboard backlight rather dim, and it stays dim even when I turn on my laptop from scratch.
