The Power Management driver for Win XP, Vista, and 7 is gone again, and missing from the driver matrices. Last night Update Retriever downloaded a new version of the Power Management driver on both my Windows XP machine as well as my Windows 7 machines. When I went to the support site to see the supporting document, the Power Management entries were gone from the R61, R500 and T500 sites. After some investigative work, I found the old document: Strangely, the document is now titled as: Lenovo Power Management Driver for Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad No reference to Windows XP, VISTA or Windows 7 in the current version of the document, yet the text file pointed to by the download link states that this driver still supports all the older ThinkPads and is applicable to Windows 7 and VISTA. The text file does say that Windows XP support has been withdrawn with this release, and that XP users should use the previous version.

It does not, however, provide a link to any document or mechanism where an XP user can obtain that previous driver easily. Another question is why Update Retriever downloaded a driver that is not for XP. My Update Retriever search had been for machine type 2714 (R500) for Windows XP. Hi chuckk48, The issue of missing Power Management driver is due the driver request that came in did not list R500 as supported systems under Win 7. Driver doc: TXT file: The driver previously has 1 list for Supported Systems and 1 list for Supported OS.

Ethernet driver (Intel PRO/1000 LAN adapter software) for Windows Vista - ThinkPad Reserve Edition. Registry patch to enable Device Initiated Power Management on SATA hard drives for Windows Vista. Read me: Windows Vista 32-bit Windows Vista 64-bit: 05 Jul 2011: ThinkPad Power Manager Patch module for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista. The power management driver for Windows 7 is no longer listed for the L460/T460/P50 etc. As a download option. Power Management Driver for Windows 7 has been removed from Downloads and Software. The link you posted is for the Power Manager utility and not the driver.

Now, there are multiple combination of Supported Systems and Supported OS, thus, we have to split the driver into multiple documents; i.e. 1 document = 1 OS. The driver source team is now checking which systems supports Windows 7, Windows 8. Once we receive the updated TXT file, we will update the drivers documents accordingly. Meanwhile, we will update the driver document with links to other OS's driver. Here's the list of drivers for now.

Hi stormycloud, No, the problem was not fixed anywhere and wasn’t until this morning (sort of). A typical Lenovo event, done in typical Lenovo fashion.
