• 1623 Answers SOURCE: Hello gadgeteer109.The AOD150 comes with a 160gb sata drive, so this should be a plug n play upgrade. Make sure the new drive is a notebook drive and not a desktop. You will need to install the operating system on the new drive.

If you want, you can clone the original drive to the new drive before you swap them. You can download free cloning/backup software.Acronis has a free trial offer thats easy to use.You.will also need a 2.5 SATA drive enclosure, to hold the new drive while you clone the internal one to it before transfer to your computer, (these are cheap) and guess what. You can slap your old drive in it and have even MORE external storage! What a deal huh?

The only tool you will need is a small phillips screwdriver. TIP: If you want to give the lilttle acer some rocket fuel while you have it opened up.swap out the 1GB of RAM for 2GB. A stick of Crucial 2GB 667 Mhz #CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM.will be another great plug n play upgrade for less than 25 buxs. Hope this answers your questions and will fixya up.please take a minute to rate my response. Posted on May 25, 2009.
