OK, so this is a challenge. It looks like TV doesn't have an unattended uninstall setup. No luck finding anything on their website, either. The default 'uninstall string' runs a GUI uninstall program. I did this exact migration a few years ago.
Install Software on a Remote Computer ' Install Software on a Remote Computer Const wbemImpersonationLevelDelegate = 4 Set objWbemLocator = CreateObject. ErrReturn = objSoftware.Install(' atl-dc-02 scripts 1561_lab.msi',,True) search for scripts. VbsEdit includes all these samples! Vectorworks library updates. VbsEdit now supports.vbs,.js,.wsf and.hta scripts.
I did what is called a 'swing migration' as I wanted the new server to have the same name as the old one (though a dns record with the old name pointing to the new server will usually suffice). Assuming you only have one DC: 1. Install temp server 2. Make it a DC 3. Transfer fsmo roles 4. Confirm AD, DNS, Sysvol has replicated 5.
Demote old 2003 DC, rename it (change ip address) 6. Install new server, name it the same as the old 2003 DC with old ip address 7.
Make it a DC 8. Transfer fsmo roles 9. Confirm AD, DNS, Sysvol has replicated 10. Demote temp DC, remove it from network (or leave it as a secondary DC) 11. Transfer file shares from old 2003 server 12. Remove old server from network If AD is a mess sometimes a fresh domain is the way to go.
But if you have a lot of users and computers that can be a huge pain. I've used this to move old domain workstation profiles to new domain profiles: It's pretty slick. An outside consultant has saved our computers to his teamviewer account and I need to undo that and keep it from happening again in the future. That makes sense, the way i avoid that is by going into the settings and setting Incoming LAN requests to accept exclusivley, therefore only people within the lan can get access. But that still doesn't help with the password issue you are up against.
