It cools the room quickly, it could cool more rooms in the house if we leave the door open. It looks nice and it is pretty quiet compared to other ACs. It is also nice that it starts up gradually when it reaches the temperature to turn back on again. I wish there was a way to leave the fan running constant though.
The part we don't like is the loud beep every time you push a button to change a setting. So you don't want to change a setting in the middle of the night while your partner is sleeping. Also, the parts all didn't fit correctly the way our window and window frame is, but we made it work. I think they did a good job making an AC that would probably fit correctly in most windows. We live in an old house, so everything's wacky. Also, the remote is great! Biggest piece of crap I ever bought my 30 year old air conditioner works better.
It works good for about the first hour and then it filled with water and started spitting out the vents. Maybe if you live in a dry climate it would work but I live on Long Island in New York and is way too humid for this air conditioner here fills up with water within an hour has no drainage at all and says do not make any drainage holes so you can't even drain it yourself I did not suggest this if you live in a humid area. It's working wonderfully well in the June/July heat of Missouri. I'm glad I spent a little extra for a 6000 BTU unit that has both an economy function and a drying function. I could have gone with a cheap 5000 BTU model with no bells and whistles, but love the features this small unit has. It is easy to clean the filter and easy to understand and use the interface.
I'm using it for a 168 square foot enclosed, eat-in kitchen that gets strong sun and sees a lot of cooking activity. I've got the thermostat set on 74 degrees and it stays very comfortable, only coming on if the temperature goes up while the oven is working. I was able to install it by myself, old and decrepit as I am.
